Harry Potter Cake

Once again, my daughter insisted on a Harry Potter themed cake for her birthday! It features HP's glasses, Hedwig and a wand laying on an open book. It is supposed to be Luna's wand, that is my daughter's favorite character. The sprinkles are actually tiny gold edible stars.

Brownie Vest

This is the cake that I made for an end of the Brownie meeting. It's not the prettiest cake, but the girls loved it so I guess that I did ok!

Happy Easter!

Easter can't be complete without a homemade carrot cake with cream cheese icing!

Tigger

Here is the Tigger cake that I made for my nephew's birthday. I made Tigger by using the frozen buttercream transfer method.

Microphone Cake

So this is my first attempt at a microphone cake for a popstar birthday. The birthday girl requested a microphone with a blue handle and silver or gray top. I made the handle using by cutting a sheet cake in half lenthwise and stacking it. The top part is an 8 inch round cake, stacked and carved to look like a ball. I used buttercream icing, the sparkle is silver sprinkles and the trim on the microphone is black fondant.

Peace Signs

My daughter insisted on a peace sign theme for her birthday this year. It's a two tier, vanilla cake with buttercream frosting. I cut the peace signs and flowers out of fondant. I was unable to find peace sign cookie cutters so I used a round cutter and then cut out the peace signs by hand. Lots of work, but well worth it because my daughter loved it!

Here's a picture of it being cut after all that work!
